Matthew is currently providing his cloud expertise at the folks at Mindshow, a VR technology company that intersects with 3D animation. He initially started out as a DevOps Engineer back in 2022, but after a year, was promoted to Lead DevOps Engineer.
Some of his major contributions include:
- Reorganize their AWS infrastructure under best practices
- Create a streamlined Unity build pipeline via GitHub Actions
- Translate an on-premise multiplayer matchmaking service to be containerized via AWS ECS
- Deploy public APIs to generate TextGrids and video renders via the cloud
- Dabble into Unity development, aid senior engineers with UI/UX tasks and new features for the Mindshow application
Matthew started his DevOps journey as a Cloud Specialist at Nebulaworks, a cloud consultancy company. By taking on two certifications, Docker Certified Associate and Certified Kubernetes Administrator, he bootstrapped his Linux and SysAdmin experience to new heights.
Once brought on as a full time Cloud Engineer, Matthew continued to foster his knowledge to clients such as PwC, FOX, and Gilead. Some of the tasks he did was:
- Upgraded an enterprise Docker EE deployment to the newest version
- Architected a Atlantis CI/CD pipeline to be used within a large mono repository
- Created new Terraform Modules to be reused by team members for AWS deployments
- Delved into GCP and Azure, utilizing cloud native tooling to foster best practices
- Partook in networking communities such as CloudNatives to spread awareness of open source software
